Jeff has been woodturning for six years, though his love for working with wood goes back a lifetime. After stumbling across a YouTube video, he was instantly captivated by the craft of woodturning and decided to give it a try. One turn led to another, and he’s been hooked ever since.
While he enjoys many aspects of the art, Jeff has found his true passion in turning segmented bowls, vases, and more recently, intricate basket illusion pieces. He especially loves working with exotic woods, combining rare and beautiful materials to create one-of-a-kind works of art.
Jeff’s craftsmanship has been recognized in multiple shows. In 2022, he took first place at the Woodturners Carvers Show in Mountain Home, Arkansas for his Sepele vase. In 2024, he won first place at the Veteran’s Administration Art Show in Little Rock with a stunning curly maple, canary, walnut, and padauk segmented vase.
Beyond the lathe, Jeff is passionate about teaching newcomers. He believes in passing down techniques and wisdom—especially the ones he learned the hard way. His guiding philosophy is simple but profound: “If you create something beautiful with a piece of wood, your spirit lives on.” For Jeff, wood is a living, created entity that deserves to be honored, cherished, and transformed with care.
