Saturday, October 25th (9am - 5pm) Learn to Turn, part 1: The Basics
In this beginner class, the expert instructors of the Diamond State Woodturners Group will work one-on-one with individual students. Each student will have an assigned lathe and instructor! You will walk away from this class with a ton of knowledge and several finished pieces you can enjoy for years, such as a wooden pen, honey dippers, and other household items. Bring your lunch and wear closed-toed shoes; we’ll provide the rest! It’s time to learn from the masters.
Saturday, November 22nd (9am - 5pm) Learn to Turn, part 2: Bowl Turning
If you've mastered the basics of spindle turning, it's time to expand your techniques and work with larger wood blocks to create beautifully turned bowls.
Guided by expert instructors from the Diamond State Woodturners Group, you’ll refine your ability to shape both concave and convex forms while learning the precise pressure, distance, and movement needed to sculpt your final pieces. Each student will have their own lathe and dedicated instructor, ensuring hands-on, personalized guidance throughout the class.
